Tyler's K5

My first vehicle was a 87 GMC Jimmy and I always wanted another, so I bought one. This was supposed to be a long term project, but we got it done a little quicker then expected. This is an 87 K5 Blazer Silverado edition. It had a brand new 4” lift and nice wheels and tires, but the motor smoked like a mosquito abatement truck and she had some rust so we had to address that. Ended up pulling the old motor and trans in favor of putting a heads/cam 6.0 with Holley terminator on it. We disassembled the 208 transfer case to change the input shaft to 32 spline and got the drivetrain in. We replaced both rockers along with the seat pans under the front drivers up to the rear seats. We sourced some gm CUCV 1 ton axles with 4:56 gears. Sandblasted and installed them along with crossover steering up front and a redhead gear box. This truck was already built in my head before we had it loaded on the trailer. To top it all off we modified a set of AMP steps to make it easier to get in and newer style seats with a console. This one is mine and not going anywhere!
